Oscar Jonsson, senior fellow at Stockholm Free World Forum, has been awarded the John McCain Dissertation Award for 2020. The ceremony took place during the Munich Security Conference, which took place between the 14th and 16th of February. Jonsson was awarded for his doctoral thesis, which analytically dissects the Russian understanding of war.
The John McCain Dissertation Award is awarded annually by the Munich Security Conference and its partners. It recognizes up to two doctoral theses for outstanding scientific contributions in the field of political science, with a special focus on transatlantic relations.
Among the distinguished guests were the US Secretary of Defense Mark T. Esper, as well as Cindy McCain.
