On the 29:th-30:th of September, the project manager for Stockholm Free World Forum (SFWF) Erik Thyselius, visited The Riga Conference 2017. Beginning in 2006, it has been an annual event and is now one of the largest security- and defense conferences in the Baltic region.
The participants and speakers consists of diplomats, politicians, journalists and scholars from around the world. Russia after Putin, the issue of populism, and the Baltic states new role in Europe were some of this year’s topics. The conference was inaugurated by the Latvian president Raimonds Vējonis.
Among the panelists were First Vice President of the European Commission Mr. Frans Timmermans, the Minister of National Defense of Canada Hon. Mr. Harjit Singh Sajjan, Swedish MP Karin Enström (Moderate Party), Secretary General of the Swedish Defence Association Anna Wieslander and the speaker of the Swedish Riksdag Urban Ahlin (Social Democratic party).
SFWF also wish to thank all the organizers of The Riga Conference 2017 for an interesting and rewarding conference.
