On March 31, the Stockholm Free World Forum (Frivärld) hosted a roundtable discussion on Nordic leadership and greater Nordic-Baltic-Polish cooperation. Discussion focused on how to further integrate the Nordic-Baltic region across sectors, and Poland’s emerging role as a regional defense leader, in a new era for European security.
With shared threat perceptions, democratic values, history, and culture, our regional bloc has the potential to be a leader not only within the European Union and NATO, but in strengthening a global alliance of democratic nations.
Participants in the roundtable discussion included the Ambassadors and Charge d’affairs of Denmark, Finland, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland.
Senior Fellows Fredrik Johansson and Patrik Oksanen presented forthcoming papers “A Nordic Manifesto” and “Nordics-Baltics-Poland in an Era of Escalating and Existential Threats”. The discussion was moderated by Gunnar Hökmark and Anna Rennéus Guthrie.
The roundtable discussion is part of a Frivärld series dedicated to strengthening an emerging Nordic-Baltic-Poland framework.
