Stockholm Free World Forum welcomes Fredrik Johansson as new senior fellow

Starting this autumn, Fredrik Johansson, columnist and communications adviser, will be joining Swedish think tank Stockholm Free Word Forum (Frivärld) and working on projects related to Europe and the economy.

-Fredrik Johansson has an analytical ability to objectively describe the reforms and changes that Europe is in need of and that must be transformed into European Union policy. At a time when it is evident that Europe must stand unified, it is important to define and develop policies that lend Europe political and economic strength and enhance its security. With Fredrik Johansson as a Senior Fellow, Stockholm Free World Forum will gain new capacity and capability to develop an agenda for the paths that Europe and the European Union must take. We look forward to his participation in our efforts to formulate policies for a better Europe, says Gunnar Hökmark, chairman of Stockholm Free World Forum.

Among other roles, Fredrik Johansson works as a columnist on the editorial page of Svenska Dagbladet. He has a background as an adviser in business as well as in party politics and he was the main secretary for the policy program that the Moderate Party adopted in 2020.

-Stockholm Free World Forum has long been an important and unique voice in the Swedish foreign and security policy debate. I am pleased to become part of the team and to have the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of Stockholm Free World Forum. Sweden needs, among other things, a deeper and more forward-looking discussion about the European Union and its future. I hope to contribute to this discussion, particularly at the nexus of competitiveness and security policy capability. Competitiveness is a crucial issue for both Sweden and Europe — not only for financing our defenses, but also because it forms the basis of our foreign and security policy, says Fredrik Johansson.

-We look forward to Fredrik Johansson joining us at Stockholm Free World Forum. Fredrik’s extensive background in politics and public opinion formation will strengthen our work in several areas, including advocating for the need for a more competitive and unified Europe, says Anna Rennéus Guthrie, director of Stockholm Free World Forum.
