The local interpreters who have worked for the Swedish armed forces in Afghanistan will be left behind when the Swedish troops withdraw from the country in 2014. A handful of them have already been murdered by the Taliban, and many more are at risk.
The interpreters have been essential for the Swedish mission in Afghanistan. It is therefore a moral obligation to offer these veterans asylum in Sweden.
