Anna Rennéus Guthrie is the Director of the think tank Stockholm Free World Forum (Frivärld). She has an extensive background as a journalist and opinion leader, focusing on politics and the business sector. Sweden’s European identity, as well as its role in the world as a defender of freedom and democracy, are areas that engage her deeply. She also maintains a strong belief in the necessity of transatlantic relations and the deepening of ties with other global democracies, alongside a commitment to market economics, free media, and freedom of speech. Anna Rennéus Guthrie has frequently highlighted the ongoing development where the West and Sweden, particularly through business relations and the new global information environment, have become targets for the interests of authoritarian states. Furthermore, she has a profound commitment to Ukraine, which has motivated several of her works. Anna has a broad educational background in the humanities and social sciences, including a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature, Master’s studies in International Journalism, as well as studies in Religious Studies and English. She was educated at Edinburgh University, Södertörn University, and Stockholm University, and has participated in PfP training in European security policy at the Swedish Defence University.
