In January 2014, ahead of the Olympic winter games in Sotchi, The Stockholm Free World Forum carried out an information campaign directed to athletes and journalists competing in and reporting from Sotchi. The aim of the campaign was to spread knowledge about the current political situation in Russia. The campaign consisted of a short letter highlighting some examples of violations against civil rights and liberties, as well as the situation when it comes to security and corruption in Russia.
