The EU-India summit in January 2026 resulted in both a long-awaited free trade agreement – the “Mother of all Trade Deals” – and the first comprehensive security and defence partnership between the two parties. Together, they mark a genuine strategic turning point and the beginning of a broader realignment between two of the world’s most significant pluralistic powers.
