In mid-April, this year’s Foreign Academy (Utrikesakademin) went on a study trip to Karlskrona. During the trip, participants visited government agencies, institutions, businesses, and local media to learn how the region is affected by the current security situation, an increased focus on total defense, and ongoing military rearmament.
The first day began at the Swedish Coast Guard, followed by visits to Blekinge Institute of Technology, the County Administrative Board, and finally the newspaper Blekinge Läns Tidning. The second day was spent at the Naval Base, the Naval Warfare Centre, and Saab Naval.
