Säkerhetsrådet is a unique forum in Sweden for qualified discussion on foreign, defense, and security policy. On Säkerhetsrådet’s agenda is a broad spectrum of topics in the form of information, current debate, defense information, and more. The breadth means that there is also room for deep dives into narrow subjects. Säkerhetsrådet operates in a spirit of openness to different opinions, interests, and perspectives.
Over the years – alongside the editors’ own contributions – hundreds of politicians, researchers, military officers, diplomats, and others have participated. Among them are Peter Hultqvist, Ulf Kristersson, Ann Linde, and Jonas Sjöstedt.
Säkerhetsrådet was established in 2015 as an independent site linked to Svenska Dagbladet’s editorial page but, since January 2020, has had the think tank Frivärld as its home.
