Where is the transatlantic relationship heading?
On November 14th, Stockholm Free World Forum will host a small round table discussion on the transatlantic relationship. The talk takes place in the aftermath of the U.S elections and is a discussion aimed at the future and what lies ahead of our countries.
The future of the transatlantic relationship between the U.S and Europe is one of the most discussed topics within both policy communities all the way up to the top political level. With the U.S elections just having taken place, what do we know so far about what direction the relationship might be steering from the U.S side? And, equally important, what are the expectations and ambitions from Europe? What are the areas where cooperation and exchange is most desired and realizable between the U.S and Europe, and particularly Sweden, in the coming years?
The U.S. and Sweden share a longstanding partnership built on common values, trade, cultural exchange and mutual support in international affairs. Naturally, for Sweden, the transatlantic relationship has during the last year centered to a large extent around the fresh Swedish membership in NATO as well as the DCA-agreement.
Stockholm Free World Forum is a proud contributor to the Transatlantic Periscope and will during the coming year be monitoring the developments of the bilateral relationship between Sweden and the U.S more closely, which you can learn more about here.
The seminar will be moderated by Anna Rennéus Guthrie, Director, Stockholm Free World Forum. Anthony T. Silberfeld, Head of the Transatlantic Periscope Project, will participate as panelist. Additional speakers will be announced.
This talk will be held in a hybrid format where participants from Sweden attend in person and participants from the U.S digitally.
